Finish The Poem

1. Agreement

These Terms govern your use of Finish The Poem (the "Site"), operated by Tatewick Enterprises LLC ("we", "us").

By creating an account or using the Site you agree to these Terms, the Community Guidelines, the Contributor Licence, and the Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Site.

2. Who can use it

You must be 16 or over, or the age of digital consent in your country if that is higher.

Finish The Poem is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under age, we will close it and delete the data.

3. Your account

You are responsible for your account and everything posted from it. Keep your password to yourself. Tell us promptly at finishthepoem@tatewickenterprises.com if you think someone else has access.

One account per person. Additional accounts created to inflate echo counts, evade a removal, or otherwise game the Site will be closed.

Handles are assigned first-come. We may reclaim a handle that impersonates someone, infringes a trade mark, is used in bad faith, or breaches the Guidelines.

4. What you post

You keep copyright in your work. The permissions you give us are set out in full in the Contributor Licence, and in summary are: to display your work on the Site, to share it on official Finish The Poem social accounts with your handle, and to include it in the annual anthology unless you have opted out.

You must not post anything that breaches the Community Guidelines. That document is part of these Terms.

5. Moderation

We may hide, remove, or refuse any content, and suspend or close any account, where we reasonably believe the Guidelines have been breached — with or without prior notice.

We are not obliged to monitor everything posted, and we don't pre-screen. Content on the Site is written by its users and does not represent our views.

If we act against your content or account and you believe we were wrong, write to finishthepoem@tatewickenterprises.com. We will review it.

6. Curators and guest curators

The daily opening line is set by us or by a guest curator we have invited for a defined period. Guest curators may set the opening line for their assigned dates and nothing else; they have no moderation powers and no access to other users' data. We may overwrite any opening line at any time.

7. Support links and payments

The Site may display a link inviting you to support the project through a third-party payment service. Poets may also add their own tip or support link to their profile.

We are not a payment service. We do not process, hold, or route any payment. Money sent through any of these links goes directly to the recipient via a third party, under that third party's own terms. We take no commission and accept no responsibility for third-party payment services, nor for what any recipient does with money they receive.

We may remove a support link that is deceptive or breaches these Terms.

8. Our content

The name Finish The Poem, the site design, code, and the daily opening lines are ours or licensed to us. You may not copy or reuse them beyond ordinary personal use of the Site.

You may quote and share individual verses with attribution to the poet's handle. You may not scrape, bulk-download, or systematically copy content from the Site, and you may not use content from the Site to train machine learning models.

9. Availability

The Site is provided as-is. We make no promise that it will be available without interruption, free of errors, or that content will be preserved indefinitely. Keep your own copy of anything you would be sorry to lose.

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Site. If we intend to close the Site permanently, we will give reasonable notice so you can retrieve your work.

10. Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or loss of data arising from your use of the Site.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Where liability cannot be excluded, ours is limited to the greater of the amount you have paid us in the preceding twelve months, or US$100.

11. Ending your use

You can delete your account at any time from your profile. See the Contributor Licence for what deletion does and does not undo.

We may close your account for a serious or repeated breach of these Terms or the Guidelines.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified on the Site before they take effect. Continuing to use the Site after that means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, and the state and federal courts located in Wyoming have exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
